Bedknobs and Broomsticks was one of the very first live action Disney movies released on VHS, first for rental only on March 4, 1980, then also for sale in October 1980, along with Pete's Dragon. Two years after the 1986 VHS of Bedknobs and Broomsticks went back into the Disney Vault, the film returned for permanent availability in 1989, when Bambi also made its VHS debut. This VHS of Bedknobs and Broomsticks was later re-packaged as a Walt Disney Masterpiece Collection title in 1994, and sales lasted through 2000.
