Synopsis[]

Disney's film magicians have created a heartwarming musical with something for everyone -- tender love songs, rousing dances, thrilling plot twists, and a lovable animated dragon named Elliott! As the one and only friend of a young orphan named Pete, Elliott can also be a big problem. His knack for flying and disappearing at will continually gets Pete into trouble. But when the town tries to capture Elliott, the dragon's ability to breathe fire could well save the day in this enchanting magical mix of live-action and brilliant Disney animation!

A heartwarming musical adventure about the friendship between a young boy and his invisible pet, Pete's Dragon casts a magical spell with thrilling plots twists and a delightful blend of live action and enchanting Disney animation! Pete, a young orphan, flees from his cruel guardians to a Maine fishing town with a loveable but mischievous dragon named Elliott - his one true friend! Fortunately for Pete, they are taken in by a kind lighthouse keeper, Nora (Helen Reddy) and her father (Mickey Rooney). But Elliott's flair for flying and disappearing at will continually gets Pete into trouble. The adventure heats up when the townsfolk try to capture Elliott for their own gain -- only to discover that a fire-breathing dragon may be the only solution to an unexpected problem!
